Signed a 4-year contract with the Michigan Stags of the World Hockey Association for $60,000 per season. The team was moved to Baltimore during the season, with the league taking charge of the payroll. Unhappy with his efforts and salary, they released him by agreeing to buy out the rest of his contract by paying him for the whole season. He then signed with the Kansas City Scouts, of the NHL, where he finished the season for an unknown salary.
