On February 22, 2020, he served as the emergency backup goalie for the NHL game opposing the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes, in Toronto. After both Hurricanes goalies got injured in the game, he was called upon as a replacement. He played 29 minutes, gave up 2 goals and earned the win. Prior to that, he had played youth hockey and 8 games, in 2014-15, for the Norwood Vipers of the Allan Cup League, a senior hockey league in Ontario. He also acted as a practice goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Toronto Marlies (AHL) since 2012 and was the emergency goalie for Maple Leafs home games since 2017. Before stepping on the ice, he signed a one-game NHL Regular Season Goaltender Amateur Try-out Agreement with the Hurricanes which does not allow for payment of a salary or bonus. He did keep his game worn jersey and will have lifelong memories.
