Mario Lemieux - Mark Messier - Pavel Bure

The Detroit Red Wings win the Stanley Cup in a season where Mario Lemieux got the most point but couldn't lead the Penguins past the 1st round of the playoffs. Anaheim's Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya finish second and third in points, after Lemieux, but are not in the Top 25 best paid NHLers that season.
