| Prior to the season for which he had a $7M contract, was suspended by the NHL for 21 games for violation of, and lack of compliance with, the NHL/NHLPA COVID-19 propocol. With a contract for $7M for the season, he forfeited $1,792,683 because of the suspension. He returned with San Jose's AHL team in early December 2021 and on January 10, 2022, the Sharks placed him on unconditional waivers with the intent to terminate his contract, citing a breach of contract and violation of AHL COVID-19 protocols.
