Signed a two-year contract with the California Golden Seals of the NHL: $80,000 and $100,000. Since the General Manager knew that Chuck Finley, the owner, would not accept paying so much, he had fake versions of the contract made, showing a salary of $30,000. When then discrepency was eventually found out between the versions of the contracts given to Redmond, filed with the NHL and the team's office, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks.
